Dear Colleagues,
IST Austria <https://ist.ac.at/> will soon be accepting applications for
new PhD students. My group is conducting research in the areas of
Computer Graphics, Geometry Processing, Computational Fabrication, and
Physics Simulation, and we have several additional groups working in the
wider area of Visual Computing. I would like to ask you to encourage
your top students and other potential candidates to apply. Please feel
free to forward the announcement to your advanced undergraduate classes
and other strong individuals.
IST Austria offers an attractive environment for excellent scientists
from all over the world. It is located at the border of Vienna, entitled
as the city with the highest quality of life, according to recent

Mercer. IST Austria is an institute dedicated to basic research of the
highest quality. PhD students take advanced courses and contribute to
the research of one or more scientific groups while being supported and
supervised by experienced scientists.
The Graduate School at IST Austria invites applicants from all countries
to its PhD program. The language of the Graduate School is English. The
PhD program combines advanced coursework and research, with a focus on
Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Neuroscience, Biology or
interdisciplinary areas. IST Austria offers internationally competitive
PhD salaries supporting 4-5 years of study. Applicants must hold either
a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent.
