human-computer interaction, or image cognition for knowledge discovery
and interpretation.
Responsibilities include: (1) meaningful collaboration with faculty in
the /Sustaining Biodiversity/ cluster as well as faculty at the Museum
and in the relevant academic departments; (2) development and
maintenance of an ongoing program of scholarly research; (3) design,

academic department; (4) teaching of graduate level courses in area of
specialization; (5) advisement and supervision of graduate students; (6)
development of research funding proposals to appropriate national
agencies and foundations; (7) engagement with Museum public programming;
(8) participation in faculty governance at the department, college, and
university levels.
Review of applications will begin January 15, 2017, and continue until
the position is filled. Apply on-line at

samples, names and email addresses of three references, plus statements
of research, teaching, and programmatic interests (i.e., describe how

contributing to exhibits and public programs at the Museum, particularly
in collaboration with biodiversity scientists; enter this statement into
the âApplicant DocumentâOtherâ category online). Candidates must
have a completed Ph.D. by the time of appointment. Questions may be
directed to the Museumâs Executive Director, Sarah George
(sgeorge@nhmu.utah.edu <mailto:sgeorge@nhmu.utah.edu>) or the Director
of the SCI Institute, Chris Johnson (crj@sci.utah.edu
