We are looking for  Postdoctoral Researchers to work on projects in 
Cultural Heritage Computing at Yale University. The positions will be 
initially for one year duration and renewable for a second year. One of 
the major projects will be  in documenting and analyzing medieval 
manuscripts. The researchers will  be responsible for both imaging 
manuscripts (with an emphasis on hyperspectral capture) and analyzing 
the layout and form of text and pictures in manuscripts. The researchers 
will collaborate with scholars to develop software tools for them to 
make use of the images and analysis results. Other projects will involve 
a wide range of 3D scanning and modeling at the YDC2 Imaging Laboratory

Yale’s Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage

Requirements:

A strong background in computer graphics and vision with a very good 
knowledge of fundamental graphics/vision algorithms and imaging hardware.

A PhD Degree related to either computer graphics or computer vision.

A demonstrated ability to do high-quality software developed using  
languages such as C/C++ and Java, and higher level tools such as OpenGL 
and Qt.

Previous experience in cultural heritage computing is desirable.
