The Institute for Visualization and Interactive Systems (VIS) of the 
University of Stuttgart, Germany invites applications for a position as

Doctoral Researcher

in Information Visualization and Visual Analytics in the following area 
and project

Visualization for Smartwatches, Fitness Trackers, and other Small 
Portable Devices as part of the German-French ANR-DFG NLE project MicroVis

Applicants should have completed a M.Sc. or equivalent degree in 
computer science or a closely related discipline with very good results. 
We expect previous experience in visual analytics, visualization, 
computer graphics, or visual computing – ideally, also in the research 
areas of the projects listed above – as well as excellent programming 
skills and a high level of proficiency in both spoken and written 
English. Applicants will be offered a 2-year contract as a full-time 
research assistant (TV-L 13) in the VIS group under the supervision of 
Dr. Tanja Blascheck (Tanja.Blascheck@vis.uni-stuttgart.de).
