Help lead and develop world-class Computer Graphics teaching and
research in one of the world’s most livable cities. Wellington is New
Zealand’s political and creative capital, and with Weta Digital on our
doorstep, we are a global destination for Computer Graphics research and
industry.

The School of Engineering and Computer Science at Victoria University of
Wellington – New Zealand’s top ranked research University – seeks to
make a senior leadership appointment in the area of Computer Graphics.
Victoria University of Wellington enjoys the benefits of New Zealand’s
wonderful landscape and lifestyle; contacts with Government; national
research funders; and a vibrant graphics industry. We pride ourselves on
our collegiality and multidisciplinary collaborations with many top
ranked research groups.

We partner with the Faculty of Engineering’s Computational Media
Innovation Centre (CMIC), led by Professor Ken Anjyo and Associate
Professor Taehyun Rhee, and have close connections with Weta Digital and
Weta Workshop, Epic Games, OLM Digital, and Square Enix.

You will have the opportunity to lead the development of the Computer
Graphics programme within the School of Engineering and Computer
Science, and you will liaise closely with the Computational Media
Innovation Centre and the School of Design to help ensure a coordinated
programme.  You will also teach a number of courses in the Computer
Graphics programme: an opportunity to inspire the next generation of
Computer Graphics graduates.

Computer Graphics in ECS and CMIC currently includes eight faculty,
seven postdoctoral students and fellows, eight PhD students, and seven
Masters students. About 200 students from a diverse range of majors
enroll in our first year Computer Graphics courses every year,
representing the interdisciplinary appeal of Computer Graphics.
