For the *German Aerospace Center (DLR)* in *Braunschweig, Germany*, we
wish to recruit qualified

== *Computer Scientists* ==

*= Multi-scale Visualization and Interactive Exploration of Large
Dynamic Space Mission Datasets =***

Daily captured data from Earth observation and remote sensing missions
become more and more precise and complex. Additionally, many current
missions allow exploring same regions again and again in short time
intervals. This opens new opportunities for the analysis of
modifications over time for atmospheric phenomena and terrain morphology.

We are looking for researchers for investigating efficient visualization
systems and methods. Experiences and interests in one or more of the
following topics are wanted:

·Interactive analysis and visualization of changes in volumes (e.g.
forests, glaciers, etc.)

·Development of methods for time-dependent modifications and
uncertainties e.g. in terrain and atmospheric data

·Design and development of level-of-detail approaches for fast
extraction on high-performance computers and for fluent visualization on
high-resolution rendering systems

·Research on methods for multi-scale data visualization

·Integration of point clouds and complex multi-spectral datasets for
interactive analysis

·Development of methods for multi-scale, semi-automatic detection of
geological 3D features in GIS data (e.g. by means of machine learning
approaches)

We are offering a research environment where people can bring in own
ideas. Part of your job will also be the presentation of your research
on international conferences and in scientific journals. We are offering
an exciting, friendly, and flexible working environment which also
provides part time.

Your Qualifications:

  * You have at least a Master in Computer Science or similar.
  * You are proficient in Software Development with C/C++ (preferably on
    Linux).
  * You have excellent skills in Graphics Programming with OpenGL.
  * You have substantial knowledge of Scientific Visualization.
  * You are aware of fundamental methods of Parallel Programming (MPI,
    OpenMP, CUDA, etc.).
  * You are knowledgeable of Software Engineering tools like SVN/Git und
    Jenkins.
  * You are a team player, creative, and able to work independent and
    self-motivated.
  * You are fluent in spoken and written English (knowledge of German is
    an asset).
