The visualization research group [3] at the Department of Informatics
(University of Bergen, Norway) seeks candidates for up to three PhD
student positions in medical visualization / visual data science, who
are interested in pushing the limits of currently known solutions for
the interactive visual discovery of new medical imaging biomarkers (or
other related topics in medical visualization).  Up to two of these new
positions are available in a recently granted new research project on
visual data science [2] that is tightly related to new research that is
happening at a new interdisciplinary research center, the Mohn Medical
Imaging and Visualization Center [4].

We seek candidates, who have
-- done your Master thesis (or a comparable education) in medical
visualization, visualization, visual data science, or any other closely
related field (finished your Master's education or doing so until the
end of 2018),
-- acquired good to very good programming skills (ideally also in GPU
programming),
-- gained good to very good language skills in (technical) English, and
-- developed an interest in visualization, visual analytics, and/or
visual data science.
