    [Apologies for cross posting.]

    Hi,

I was looking at your work as recently published in the Coordinated
Views & Interaction Design stream of the Eurographics Conference on
Visualisation (EuroVis) 2016 and wondered if you or anyone you know
(e.g., postdoc researchers, recent PhD graduates, etc.) might be
interested in the following lectureship to which I am currently
recruiting? If you, yourself, are interested, then I would look
forward to hearing from you; if you are not interested yourself but
know of anyone who would be suited to the position please do pass on
    the details.

    Cheers,

    Jo

Aston University School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) is
consistently ranked as one of the top Universities in the UK for
engineering-related disciplines. Our research strengths are
concentrated in selected areas, are often multidisciplinary in nature
and are designed to develop solutions to practical problems.

This appointment will strengthen the expanding research and teaching
activities of the Computer Science Subject Group at undergraduate and
postgraduate levels. We intend to appoint a Lecturer to develop further
the research in the System Analysis Research Institute (SARI
-http://www.aston.ac.uk/eas/research/groups/institute-of-systems-analytics/),
particularly in the field of Information Visualisation. *We are seeking
a dynamic lecturer who approaches information visualisation research
from a human-computer interaction (HCI) perspective and who is,
therefore, capable of contributing equally to the HCI research group
(based on practical familiarity with HCI methodologies and philosophies)
and to SARI.* Ideally, you will have experience of multidisciplinary
research in which information visualisation and HCI approaches have been
applied to real world, practical problems.

You will have a relevant PhD and be capable of making significant
contributions to our research activities, including the attraction of
external research funding. All our Computer Science staff are fully
integrated in delivering our mainstream computing programmes at
undergraduate and graduate levels and you will be expected to deliver
excellence in your teaching as well as developing your research profile.
You will also supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects and
engage with external individuals and groups, such as contributing to
summer schools and other outreach activities.

We would particularly like to encourage applications from women seeking
to progress their academic careers. Aston University is committed to
the principles of the Athena SWAN

recognised recently by a prestigious Silver Award to EAS, and we pride
ourselves on our vibrant, friendly and supportive working environment
and collaborative atmosphere.

The proposed starting date is in January 2017, but there is scope for
flexibility.
