Senior Lecturer
at the Faculty of Computer Science.

The Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Vienna is a young, growing
faculty. Currently there are 22 professors at various levels, 7 PostDocs, 52
PhD students as well as more than 400 Master and 2000 Bachelor students.

The goal of our Faculty is to focus on interdisciplinary research within the
broad research context of the University of Vienna. Hence, we are laying the
foundations in teaching and research to better connect with other disciplines
and research areas within the University of Vienna.

Duration of contract: 4 years

Extent of Employment: 40 hours/week, which include a teaching assignment of 14
credits per semester on average.

Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1
lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a
particular salary grade.

Job Description:
There is an opening for a senior lecturer position at the Faculty of Computer
Science at the University of Vienna. In the context of new curricula starting
in the fall of 2016, we are looking for a motivated person with a PhD in
Computer Science that has a track record in teaching. We are especially
interested in a person with experiences in modern didactical concepts such as
experiental teaching and learning.

As a senior lecturer we expect you to be able to teach any topic in the
bachelor program of Computer Science. However, we especially are looking for
didactic experience in the area of software engineering.

The tasks include keeping up with state-of-the-art in research and teaching as
well as organizational and preparational tasks for teaching. In addition, you
are expected to be active in a supportive role for administrative tasks.

Profile:
Minimum requirements:
a. a PhD in the areas of Computer Science
b. multi-year teaching experience at a postsecondary institution
c. languages: German -- fluent; English -- excellent.
