Research Assistant Position on Wireless Networked Embedded Systems @
TU Graz

The Institute for Technical Informatics at Graz University of Technology
(http://www.tugraz.at/institute/iti/home) has an opening for a University
Assistant position, to be filled as soon as possible. The successful
candidate
will conduct highly competitive research and pursue a Ph.D. in the area of
wireless networked embedded systems, as well as help with teaching at
Bachelor
(in German language) and Master level (in English language), and should
hence
have very good command of both languages.
The position shall reinforce and extend the research activities at the
Institute, with a strong focus on industrial applications of wireless
embedded
systems (Smart Production, Industry 4.0). We expect candidates to have
interest
and/or experience in cyber-physical systems and/or Internet of Things
meeting
high quality of service and reliability requirements.
Applicants must hold a Master degree (or equivalent) in computer
engineering,
computer science, or electrical engineering and have an excellent track
record,
maturity, self-motivation, as well as the ability to work both
independently and
as a team player. Experience in scientific projects, international
cooperation
and publication activities are considered an asset.
TU Graz, with more than 12.700 students and 7 faculties, is the second
largest
university in Styria and one of the three Austrian universities of
technology.
Graz, the second largest city in Austria, is a young and lively city
with more
than 50.000 students situated south-east of the Alps. It enjoys an almost
mediterranean climate and lifestyle and its medieval old town (one of the
largest and best-preserved in central Europe) is a UNESCO world heritage
site.
The position is remunerated according to the Kollektivvertrag for Austrian
Universities, i.e., the salary amounts to at least 37280€/year before
taxes and
may increase depending on prior experience. The initial appointment for
this
position will be for 4 years.
