The University has authorised a new faculty hire in C/S, with preference to candidates who complement existing strengths.  Appointments would be at the Lecturer (= Asst. Prof.) or Associate Professor (= Senior Lecturer) level.  Due to UK hiring practices, the deadline for application is June 21.

Speaking as the leader of the Computational Science & Engineering Research Theme, we would be interested in strong candidates in numerical simulation or visualisation, but are particularly interested in candidates with a strong background in parallel programming. As most of you know, we have identified it as a strategically important area, hence my recent shift towards the larger scale side of scientific visualization.

So, if you know of any suitable candidates, in particular candidates with strength in parallel architectures, parallel programming or parallel visualization, please forward this to them.

I would be happy to answer any questions that may arise.
