The Advanced Computing Research Centre (ACRC) is one of three
University-Supported Research Centres within the School of Information
Technology & Mathematical Sciences (ITMS) in the Division of Information
Technology, Engineering and the Environment.
The ACRC combines academic excellence and research experience with a
highly collaborative approach to provide new and cost effective
computing solutions. The expertise of the ACRC is with three
complementary areas: intelligent software engineering, virtualisation
and augmented reality, and data analytics and business intelligence.
The ACRC will be leading multiple projects within the new $88 million
Data to Decisions Cooperative Research Centre (D2D CRC) between 2014 and
2019 and is seeking an experienced Research Fellow to conduct research
in visualisation
The ACRC is seeking a doctoral qualified academic who is energetic and
collaborative to fill the role of Research Fellow/Senior Research
Fellow. You will have a strong track record of high quality journal
publications and conference presentations in the field of visualisation
or novel user interfaces. With demonstrated experience and strong
programming skills in information, graph visualisation and or novel user
interfaces.
The successful candidate will investigate the visualisation of "Big
data" sets, as part of a research team. Big data is a collection of data
and information sets so large they are difficult to store, search and
analyse using traditional processing applications. This project will
investigate novel man-machine visualisation tools for extremely large
data sets that also cater for a wide variety of information forms.
