offer with incredible international companies like Sony R&D, Prime Focus
Group and innovative start-ups like ROLI-Labs.
What we need are talented, enthusiastic students from computer science,

*Fully funded doctoral studentships in Computer Animation, Games and
Computer Graphics*
*(Annual stipend £15,090 + company top up for four years, plus generous
funding for conferences, travel and equipment)*
The Centre for Digital Entertainment (CDE) is an EPSRC funded Centre for
Doctoral Training between the University of Bath and Bournemouth
University. The CDE creates innovative funded research and development
projects for the computer games, animation, VFX, simulation and cultural
industries. We embed doctoral students into companies working on
research projects to support the growth of the UK economy. Our partners
include Aardman Animation, Electronic Arts, Double Negative, Ninja
Theory, Hibbert Ralph Animation, the NHS and the National Trust.
You will spend one year of preparation and training at Bath or
Bournemouth University. This is followed by three years in a company.
Fully supported by academic and company supervisors, you will perform
leading edge research to feed into the company's next generation
products. This exciting and unusual doctoral programme gives you a
flying start in your chosen career.
Applicants should hold at least an upper second (2.1) undergraduate or a
master degree in a relevant subject, such as Computer Science, Maths,
Physics, engineering or Software Engineering. An ideal candidate should
have a strong background in mathematics and be competent in computer
programming. Knowledge and experience in computer graphics, computer
vision or imaging are desirable.
You must be a citizen of the UK/European Union or have indefinite leave
to remain in the UK.
