The Department of Computer Science at the University of
California, Davis, is looking for an exceptional new faculty
member, to start as early as Spring, 2020. This position is in
the area of visualization and graphics, at any rank. I would
appreciate your assistance in directing the attached
announcement to truly outstanding candidates who might be
interested in moving to Davis. UC Davis has a very strong group
in the Visualization and Graphics area, so this represents an
exciting opportunity for a junior researcher. <br>
<br>
UC Davis offers unique opportunities for research, cooperation
with industry, and interaction with excellent students at both
the undergraduate and graduate levels. The city of Davis,
located in Northern California between the Bay Area and the
state capitol in Sacramento, is a friendly college town with
excellent public schools and a pleasant quality of life. The
Computer Science Department is ranked 34th in the country by US
News and World Report. The University has 38,000 students, a
medical school, a law school, and the world’s best programs in
agriculture and veterinary medicine. It is a leader in
providing top-quality affordable education. <br>

In addition to this position in visualization and graphics, we
will be advertising several more area-specific positions at any
academic rank. Additionally, UC Davis currently has many
cross-disciplinary initiatives that will hire faculty in a range
of departments, depending on the applicant and their areas of
interest. The Computer Science Department at UC Davis
participates in several of these initiatives, providing
additional opportunities for hiring in Computer Science at UC
