Information about the division and the department
The Interaction Design division (IxD) is a
multidisciplinary group at the Department of Computer
Science and Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology
and Gothenburg University. Researchers at the division
conduct research in the areas of computer game design,
aesthetics of computational technology, information
visualization, intelligent user interfaces, and tangible
user interfaces. It is responsible for approximately 20
courses – mainly at the masters level – and is responsible
for two masters programmes: Interaction Design &
Technologies at Chalmers and Game Design & Technology at
Gothenburg University.

The division is located at the Lindholmen Campus and is part
of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
which is a joint department between Chalmers University of
Technology and University of Gothenburg. The department has
around 270 employees from over 30 countries. Our research
has a wide span, from theoretical foundations to applied
systems development. We provide high quality education at
Bachelor's, Master's and graduate levels, offering over 150
courses each year. We also have extensive national and
international collaborations with academia, industry and
society. For more information about the department, see <a

Major responsibilities
The position includes the responsibility to be a
teacher or co-teacher in some of the following courses:
Introduction to Game Research, Gameplay Design,
Technology-Driven Gameplay Design, and Game Engine
Architecture. Most of these are held during the autumn term.
Responsibilities include supervising students at bachelor
and master levels, grading assignments and exams, running
exercises and lecturing. The work will be done in
collaboration with an experienced teacher from the
Interaction Design division and includes some preparation
time before the semester begins.
courses at bachelor and master level
• Conduct research, as a member of a research team or as the
leader of a research team
• Actively participate in internal development work at the
division and department levels
• Participate in international research networks, e.g.
programme and review committees
• Actively seek external research funding
