Cluster Faculty Search for Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in the School of
Computing with a Power and Energy Analytics Focus
Applications and nominations are sought for multiple focused faculty
positions in the School of Computing. The positions are targeted for the
Zucker Family Graduate Education Center in Charleston, South Carolina.
Scope includes the rank of tenured or tenure track Associate or Assistant
Professor. Senior applicants are expected to have a nationally recognized
record of outstanding scholarship. The ideal candidate will have teaching
and research interests encompassing the application of computer science,
visualization, or visual analytics to problems in electric power. Possible
focus areas could be energy analytics, cyber and physical security, IT-OT,
load and resource forecasting. The persons filling the positions may also
hold a joint appointment position with the Holcombe Department of
Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clemson.
The School of Computing includes 31 tenured/tenure-track faculty, 6
lecturers, and 700 undergraduate and 200 graduate students. The School
offers BA and BS degrees in Computer Science, BS in Computer Information
Systems, MS in Computer Science, MFA in Digital Production Arts, PhD in
Computer Science, and PhD in Human-Centered Computing. The Holcombe
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is one of the largest
and most active departments at Clemson, with over 40 faculty members,
approximately 550 undergraduates and 190 graduate students.
The Zucker Family Graduate Education Center is Clemson’s Charleston
innovation campus. It houses a $98M power facility initiated in 2009 from
a $45M Department of Energy grant. The facility includes the SCE&G Energy
Innovation Center which contains the world’s most-advanced wind-turbine
drivetrain testing facility capable of full-scale highly accelerated
mechanical and electrical testing of advanced drivetrain systems for wind
turbines. The SCE&G Energy Innovation Center also houses the Duke Energy
Electrical Grid Research Innovation and Development (eGRID) Center, a
facility with real-time simulation and 20MVA hardware-in-the-loop

Clemson University is a doctoral granting R1 research, land-grant
institution for the State of South Carolina enrolling approximately 17,100
undergraduates and 4,300 graduate students with 8,500 ethnic minorities.

economic development activities are enhanced by public-private
partnerships at 3 innovation campuses and 6 research and education centers

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Computer Science, Electrical
Engineering, or a closely related field. For full consideration,
