      <p class=""><span class="" style="font-size: 14px;">The Computer
          Science Department of the University of North Carolina at
          Chapel Hill invites applications for a tenure-track faculty
          position  at the level of Assistant Professor in the
          Department of Computer Science to begin on or after <span
            class="aBn">July 1, 2015</span>. We seek applications from
          candidates in the area of â€œ<b class="">Big Data for
            Health-Information Technology</b>”. We are seeking
          exceptional candidates with a strong research record in any of
          the following areas: databases, <i class="">knowledge
            discovery or data mining</i>, <i class="">information
            visualization</i>, <i class="">data analysis</i>, sensor
          networks, or machine learning. A track record of collaborating
          with investigators in the health sciences is helpful.</span></p>
      <p class=""><span class="" style="font-size: 14px;">This
          tenure-track position is targeted to support the
          interdisciplinary and collaborative research mission of the
          Carolina Health Informatics Program (<a moz-do-not-send="true"
            href="http://chip.unc.edu/" target="_blank" class="">http://chip.unc.edu</a>).
          Thus, while the home department for this position will be
          computer science, appointees will be expected to participate
          in research collaborations spanning a range of disciplines,
          with researchers from the Schools of Medicine, Information and
          Library Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, and
          Dentistry, as part of a campus-wide health informatics
          initiative.</span></p>
      <p class=""><span class="" style="font-size: 14px;">Applicants are
          expected to have a Doctorate degree in Computer
          Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.</span></p>
