<div dir="ltr">Position: Visual Analytics Scientist and
Application Developer<br>
<br>
Incumbent will serve as a scientist and application developer
for the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) at Walter
Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) in Bethesda MD.
NICoE is a DoD institute dedicated to providing cutting-edge
evaluation, treatment, and research for service members dealing
with complex interactions of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI)
and psychological health (PH) conditions. The Clinical and
Research Informatics group at the NICoE maintains a large-scale
database with over 3,000 clinical elements collected from
patients during a four-week period in addition to thousands of
longitudinal elements collected before and after their
comprehensive treatment.<br>

Successful candidates will be expected to conduct research and
development of state-of-the-art visual analytical technique that
can be used to better explore, analyze, and understand the
complex effects of concussion and mTBI. Applicants are expected
to have a strong background in data visualization, graphical
interfaces, data representations, and computer graphics. <br>
<br>
A PhD in computer science or related field is required.
Knowledge of fundamentals of data visualization, visual
analytics, visual data mining, and graphical interfaces is
required. Proficiency in widely popular software application,
libraries, and tools such as D3, Tableau, MatplotLib, JQuery,
Highcharts, etc is required. <br>

Successful Candidate:<br>

* A Ph.D. in computer-science or related field or an M.S. with
equivalent work experience and strong publication record.<br>
<br>
* Interest to work in clinical and multi-disciplinary
environments.<br>
<br>
* Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.<br>
<br>
* Proven ability to undertake and publish research in data
visualization, visual analytics, and visual data mining at
national or international level.<br>
<br>
* Excellent programming skills in Python, C/C++, Perl, R,
Matlab, JavaScript, HTML5, and/or Java.<br>
<br>
* Knowledge in visualization of unstructured text data.<br>
<br>
* Proficiency in widely popular software application or
libraries such as D3, Tableau, SAS, Spotfire, MatplotLib,
JQuery, and/or Highcharts,<br>
<br>
* Proven publication record<br>
